History of Fishers Theatre
Since its exciting beginnings in 2006 alongside Fishers High School, Fishers Theatre has truly blossomed into a vibrant hub of creativity and community spirit! Thanks to the inspiring guidance of Mr. Matt Rund and Mr. Andy Smith, our program has evolved from a small department into a dynamic platform that celebrates the passion and talent of our students in every captivating production.
In 2012, we joyfully welcomed Mr. John Colby, who infused new energy and creativity into our productions with delightful children’s theater and the lively Comedy Sport. Each of our leaders has left an unforgettable imprint—Mr. Rund enchanted us with unforgettable musicals, Mr. Colby skillfully directed mesmerizing plays, and Mr. Smith expertly handled all things technical, ensuring our shows are nothing short of dazzling.
After an impressive 12-year journey, Mr. Rund transitioned to an administrative role in 2018, allowing Mr. Colby to continue dazzling audiences with both musicals and plays until he embraced a thrilling new path in public speaking in 2019. That same year, we were incredibly fortunate to have Ms. Anna Nickell join our passionate team, skillfully guiding Fishers Theatre through the challenges of the pandemic and launching our cherished coffeehouse performances.
In 2022, as Ms. Nickell moved on from education, we were thrilled to welcome Ms. Emma Rund as our new leader. She quickly took charge, initiating The Thespian Troop and establishing a parent booster group, fostering growth, and elevating our program’s standing in the community and beyond. In 2026, Mr. Smith retired after decades of service, marking the end of an era for Fishers Theatre.
As we look ahead, we celebrate the incredible leaders who have shaped Fishers Theatre: Mr. Matt Rund (2006-2018), Mr. Andy Smith (2006-2026), Mr. Jon Colby (2012-2019), Ms. Anna Nickell (2019-2022), and our current leader, Ms. Emma Rund (2022-present). Our journey is far from over, and we are excited about all the amazing experiences that await us!
