FHS Fall Musical

Our Fall Musical is an exciting after-school program that invites students to showcase their talents in singing, acting, and dancing. Participation requires an audition, giving every interested student a fair chance to be part of this wonderful production. This program is a fantastic opportunity to build confidence, develop teamwork skills, and experience the magic of live theatre. We encourage all students who love performing arts to audition and be part of a fun experience.

Who Can Be Invovled/ Auditions

  • Acting/Singing Auditions: Students will prepare a 1–2 minute monologue, either chosen from the provided monologues for students new to theatre or first-year students. Students who have been in a Theatre Fishers show before must find a monologue on their own. Students will sign up using Ludus to reserve a 15-minute time slot. Students are expected to show up 15 minutes before their scheduled time.

  • Dance Auditions: Students will also have a dance audition, where they will learn one basic dance on the day of the audition and, if they want to be considered for the advanced dance chorus, a second dance on the day of the audition.

  • Callbacks: Students who receive a callback are being considered for a leading or featured role; however, not being on the callback list does not mean you are not in the show—it just means you are not being considered for a leading or featured role.

  • Tech Crew: Students will apply via Microsoft Forms to be on the crew. Students indicate which crew they would like to be a part of. Just because a student indicates their preferred crew does not mean they will be assigned to that crew. The director of theatre and technical director will assign students to the crew that best fits the production's needs. Much like each show has different casting requirements, the same goes for crew assignments. Depending on the needs of each production, the number of students on each crew will vary.

Audition Requirements

  • YOU MUST ATTEND BOTH THE DANCE AUDITION AND SIGN UP FOR A TIME SLOT TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE CAST.

  • Students will need to prepare a MEMORIZED 1 to 1:30-minute contemporary monologue and MEMORIZE one of the song selections listed below.

  • If this is your first time auditioning for a theater fishers show or you are a freshman, then you can use one of the monologues linked below.

  • Students must arrive 15 minutes before their audition time and check in with our front-of-house manager in the lobby of the FHS auditorium. Students fill out their audition form before the audition and bring it in with them to hand to the director before the audition begins.

  • The audition should last only about 5 minutes, so students should have arrangements to get to and from their audition.

  • For dance auditions, all students need to be there the whole time. Students will learn a 16-count dance, taught by our choreographer, and then perform the 16 counts in groups of 4 to 5 students for the directors.

Music Selections

Each student will prepare one vocal audition option from pre-chosen songs in Catch Me If You Can. The link below contains the sheet music for all cuts, and linked here are the tracks, including part learning tracks for each song.
